Treasuring the Bible and My Time with the Lord, Jennifer Broberg Growing up in a Christian family, I have many memories of my parents praying, calling on the Lord's name (Romans 10:13), and reading the Bible. I grew up encouraged by my parents and other Christians with whom I was meeting in the local church in Chicago to develop a habit of reading the Bible and spending time to pray to God daily. Still, throughout my high school and college years I found my practice of these things to be sporadic. I would have times when I was very motivated to be diligent in reading the Bible and praying, followed by periods of time when God occupied very little of my time each day. After college I decided to come to the Full-Time Training in Anaheim, California. One reason I decided to come was to become more useful to the Lord in His service (2 Timothy 2:21), especially through knowing the Bible more. Through my classes in the Full-Time Training in Anaheim, my love for the Bible has increased. Not only that, but I now find myself looking forward to and treasuring my time early in the morning to pray to the Lord and spend time in His presence. This has become the source of joy for my whole day. Being a moody person by disposition, I have found that my time with God in the Bible every morning is an excellent way to begin my day, filling me with the joy of the Lord to be my strength and stability for the whole day (Nehemiah 8:10).
